Located in a contemporary apartment building in Prospect Heights, this renovation transforms a developer-built condo into a home with warmth, character, and flexibility. The project focused on making the existing space work harder through a series of thoughtful interventions to make the owner’s home their own. Custom folding doors allow the living room to open fully to the dining area or close to create a flexible guest suite. A built in pantry and sideboard expands the kitchen program into the dining area, adding generous storage and serving space while strengthening the connection between the two spaces. Existing millwork in the primary bedroom was carefully reworked and integrated into the new design, preserving what could be reused while reducing waste. Throughout, richer materials, custom cabinetry, and thoughtful detailing replace the condo's original finishes. With relatively few but carefully considered interventions, the apartment feels transformed far beyond the extent of the work.
