FORT GREENE townHOUSE II

Located in a turn-of-the-century townhouse in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, this gut renovation transforms a home that had been stripped of much of its historic character through successive renovations. Rather than recreating lost details, the project embraces a contemporary architectural language informed by the scale, rhythm, and materiality of the original house. Contemporary oak cabinetry with custom hardware, floating marble shelves, and a hand-painted mural in the powder room introduce moments of richness and surprise within a warm, restrained palette. Organized around gathering, cooking, and everyday living, the home balances openness with intimacy, creating spaces equally suited to quiet family life and lively entertaining.
